Football. Salvatore brothers. Plotting to save Elena. Yep, it’s definitely another day in Mystic Falls! In a new Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 19 clip released by the CW, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are seen tossing a football around their house (which we’re pretty sure they parents forbade back in the day), and talking about what’s the best way to get Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) to take the cure without instigating her to kill more innocent people.
Interestingly enough, in this sneak peek, Stefan is the brother who doesn’t want to consider Elena’s choice, which is not to take the cure. Damon, on the contrary, points out that Evilena threatened mass murder if they didn’t leave her and her humanity switch alone. “How are you going to make an emotionless vampire want anything?” Damon asks, and Stefan’s plan is to bombard her with enough emotions so that her humanity comes spiraling back and therefore her decent decision-making. And if that doesn’t work? Stefan suggests locking her up and keeping her side-lined until they figure out an alternate plan.
However, there are more questions to ponder and the Salvatore hermanos discuss what will happen once Elena’s pain and heartache (including repressed feelings from Jeremy’s death) come flooding back. Stefan shrugs and says, “Well, then you, my friend, will be right by her side ready to help her through it.” The two of them stare at each other until Damon cuts through the silence and basically gets on board with the plan.
